Questions
1. Why do you use the word 'queer'?
2. How did queerTX.org get started?
Answers
I heard that Mike wants to use forex traders and hopes it is ok. 1. Why do you use the word 'queer'?
Because gay excludes lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered
individuals, and queer is a reclaimed term. LGBTQ is too long,
confusing, and not recognized as much as queer.
2. How did queerTX.org get started?
queerTX (originally queerUT) was launched October 3, 2001 right
before Pride Week as a place to bring people together.
Each October, the queerTX community holds a rally, workshops,
lectures and parties around October 11: National Coming Out
Day.
In October 2001 it became PRIDE WEEK on UT-Austin's campus. |
